I don't like marshmallows and so I stop things by drinking 1/2 cup (more if you want) of V8 juice original. I drink the V8 and head for the shower, by the time I get out, dry off and sit down to change my gear, things have stopped. Works for me.

If for example it takes 4 hours from eating something to it coming out of your bag then the same would be the case for a marshmallow, you'd have to wait 4 hours for it to have an affect on your output?
